Enquire about this workThe Skin I Inhabit serves as an emotional revenge against an attitude, a response to an existentialist behavior of men towards women, seeing women as objects. Fortunately, this tendency is not acceptable in our context, although it still exists in various parts of the world we live in.
Leaving no room for doubt, these images, loaded with eloquent expressiveness, unequivocally lead us to a reflection induced by such behaviors and their undoubtedly adverse consequences when we talk about gender rights.
Manuel, as we call him, employs resources and techniques that seek experimentation, both in concept and execution. In this case, his expressiveness reinforces the problem at hand. The intense black of charcoal and the sepia stains of brewed coffee, in general, the evident photorealistic conception with traces of expressive rigor.
On the other hand, we abruptly encounter the effect provided by the white pastel chalk, everything integrates into an execution that speaks well of the artist’s rigor and research.
